Advocacy for women's rights and gender equality

Our mission is to advocate for women's rights by strengthening and mobilizing individuals, groups, organizations and institutions, through alliances and networking.

The principles that guide our work are based on feminist values, committed to gender equality and social justice. This implies working for the elimination of all forms of discrimination and to overcome, among other factors, the ongoing inequalities related to the active exercise of sexual rights and reproductive rights, persistent labor market discrimination and gender based violence.

Objectives

We build processes towards individual, collective and institutional empowerment in order to exercise active citizenship based on gender equality.

We promote inter-generational and inter-institutional exchange processes between women and men of diverse socio-economic, political and cultural backgrounds.

We encourage different groups of women and men to work for gender equality in the political context.

We promote reflection as a core process to create alternative visions of masculine and feminine identities, other than the hegemonic interpretations.

We develop resources to strengthen the capabilites of individuals and institutions that advocate for women’s rights.

We collaborate with women's networks who advocate for women's rights and we generate alliances between women activists and feminists.

INDERA was founded in the year 2007

The INDERA Foundation was born in the year 2007 from the work of INDERA Gender Consultancy and from the work of a diverse group of women and men who want to contribute to strengthen networking and partnership among different social groups in order to build a just society based on the transformation of gender and power relations.
